October 13, 2024, Don Bosco Formation Center, Lawaan, Talisay – The Salesian Cooperators from Cebu gathered in celebration of the Memorial of Blessed Alexandrina da Costa, a Portuguese mystic known for her profound suffering and unwavering love for Jesus. Born in 1904, Blessed Alexandrina lived a life marked by physical pain and paralysis, which she offered as a sacrifice for the salvation of souls. She became a Salesian Cooperator in 1944 and is remembered for her deep spiritual devotion and message of hope and redemption.
The celebration began with an inspiring talk by Ike Abastillas, who shared about the life and legacy of Blessed Alexandrina. He emphasized her heroic endurance and faith in the face of immense suffering, inspiring those in attendance to live their own lives with similar dedication to the Lord.
Following the talk, a Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Marco Bollozos, SDB. Eve Aliganga then shared a heartfelt testimony about the powerful intercession of Blessed Alexandrina, recounting various experiences from Salesian Cooperators who have been touched by her prayers and spiritual guidance.
The celebration concluded with a community lunch, bringing together the Salesian family in a spirit of unity, faith, and fellowship.
