Sunday, August 16, 2026 – On the occasion of the birthday of St. John Bosco, our beloved Founder, the Salesian Cooperators from the two islands of Cebu and Negros came together for a meaningful and joyful celebration through a Simultaneous Tree Planting (Cacao) and Mangrove Planting Activity.

As early as 5:00 AM, we gathered to welcome the first light of the day, beginning this special celebration with grateful hearts and a shared commitment to care for Mother Earth, our Common Home. With hands ready to serve and hearts united in faith, we planted cacao seedlings and mangroves as a concrete expression of our faith in action and our responsibility to protect and restore creation. This activity was not only a gift to the environment but also our gift to Don Bosco—a joyful way of honoring his legacy of love, service, and dedication to the young and to the community.

After the planting activity, we enjoyed swimming, fellowship, and bonding, creating beautiful moments of joy, friendship, and gratitude. The simple moments of laughter and togetherness reminded us that the Salesian spirit is lived not only through service but also through joy, friendship, and community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the Salesian Cooperators who worked behind the scenes and contributed to the success of these activities. Every effort, big or small, helped make this celebration meaningful. We are especially grateful to all those who generously brought food to share with everyone. Your generosity transformed our fellowship into a true celebration of fraternity and communion.

Indeed, it was a beautiful, joyful, and meaningful celebration of Don Bosco’s birthday—coming together as one Salesian family, caring for creation, strengthening our bonds, sharing what we have, and continuing his mission with generous hearts. Happy Birthday, Don Bosco!
